Official: Russia to protect economic interests amid new sanctions

MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- Moscow will elaborate measures to protect its economic interests as the ninth package of E.U. sanctions was approved, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told PRIME on Friday.

"We view them negatively,” he said, referring to sanctions. “We will elaborate measures that would secure our economic interests."

Grushko also said that the real beneficiary of the new European sanctions is the U.S.
